Manikyavelu Mansion, once home to businessman-turned-aristocrat Vilum Manickavelu Mudaliar, was acquired by the government at an auction. Restored and repurposed, it became the southern centre of the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in 2009. Read more on NGMA here.

Once you arrive at the location, choose a spot you’d like to sketch and get comfortable.
Rules at this location
No large easels are not allowed within the Galllery.
No wet media allowed inside the gallery/exhibit spaces
Be mindful to not block the walking paths.
Cafeteria is a billable space, so please order something if you choose to sit here.
Things to carry for this session
- A sketchbook/paper/drawing surface
- Pencils or any medium you would like to try out
- A portable chair/mat. If the location has no seating, we tend to sit on the ground
- Water bottle and snacks
