The story of Sabha is rooted in a tradition of education and community. The building was once the Chaturveda Siddhantha Sabha School, established by the RBANM’s Educational Charities. For over a century, it was a place where generations of students were educated and where knowledge was shared. Today its a heritage structure featuring cultural events. It’s a favourite sketching location for the Penciljam community, who meet at Sabha to draw the architecture, as well as the vibrant events hosted there.

Drawing Bengaluru | Blrhubba
This event is curated by Penciljam for Anubhava Hubba, Blrhubba 2026.
The heart of the Drawing Bengaluru project is Penciljam, a community of Citizen Artists who have gathered every Sunday for the past 16 years to draw our city on location. From bustling markets to quiet colonial-era lanes, our sketchbooks have become an unintentional, yet powerful, record of Bengaluru’s constant transformation.
Penciljam is a project of the Nabachika Foundation, a non-profit with a focus on promoting the Citizen Arts. The foundation conducts events, research and outreach programs designed to increase public interest in the Visual Arts and in Visual-Thinking.
