Join us for an exciting workshop around the exhibit – The Forgotten Souvenir. This exhibit features late 18th century paintings created on Mica and used as souvenirs for British travellers.
This workshop will have two parts to it. For the first half of the workshop, we will study the paintings from the exhibit and recreate them in our sketchbooks. During the second half of the workshop, we will try and portray our present day society and environs, and create souvenirs
of our own, using the same visual style as the paintings.
Important – What you need for this session:
1. A book to draw in – ideally a Sketchbook or several sheets of A4 paper held together by an exam pad
2. Material to draw with – Pencil (Wood or mechanical) and an eraser
3. Material to outline with – Gel Pens or Fineliners
4. Material to colour with – Colour Brushpens, Sketchpens or Colour Pencils (No wet media )
