Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace in Bengaluru is a great example of Indo-Islamic architecture that once served as the summer retreat of the Mysorean ruler. Begun by Hyder Ali in 1781 and completed under Tipu Sultan in 1791, the palace later housed the British secretariat before it was relocated to Attara Kacheri in 1868.
Now maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India, it stands in the heart of Old Bangalore as a historic, protected monument and landmark. We are delighted to have received permission from ASI to draw at this location.
